Ready to learn Mahjong or build more confidence in your game? Join us for our two-week Mahjong 101 & 102 Series at The Clubhouse in Park Ridge! This series is designed to take you from learning the fundamentals of American Mahjong to putting those skills into practice through guided play.
🀄 Mahjong 101 – October 6
Learn the foundations of American Mahjong in a fun, welcoming environment. We'll cover:
Tile identification, suits, and terminology
Setting up the game and building the walls
The Charleston
Reading the National Mah Jongg League card
Calling tiles, exposures, and basic gameplay
🀄 Mahjong 102 – October 13
Come back for the next step! This session builds on everything you learned in Mahjong 101 and gives you more time to play, practice, and ask questions. You'll:
Practice through guided gameplay
Strengthen your understanding of the NMJL card
Learn better hand selection and decision-making
Build confidence during live play
Review common mistakes, strategy, and helpful tips

Whether you've never touched a Mahjong tile or you're looking for a refresher before joining open plays and leagues, this two-week series is the perfect place to start. By the end of the second session, you'll have a stronger understanding of the game and more confidence sitting down at a table to play with others.
Booking Policy
All ticket sales are final. Your spot is yours to give—if you're unable to attend, you're welcome to send a friend in your place. Because our classes are intentionally kept small, tickets cannot be exchanged, transferred to another date, or credited toward future events.
Registration includes both October 6 and October 13 classes.
