Private Lessons: Samantha- Park Ridge & North Shore
I’ve been an elementary PE teacher for 17 years, and at my core, I’m a total game person — and launching North Shore Mahjong has been one of the most exciting and fulfilling things I’ve ever done.
I’ve always loved games — strategy, competition, problem-solving, and the energy around a table — so when I found American Mahjong, I didn’t just enjoy it. I fell completely in love. What started as a personal passion quickly grew into something so much bigger: a business, a gathering place, and a community that I care deeply about.
With a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, teaching comes naturally to me. I know how to break things down, scaffold learning, and help players build confidence step by step. But more than anything, I love watching people connect over this game. Mahjong sharpens your mind, builds confidence, and creates meaningful community — and building that community through North Shore Mahjong truly means everything to me.
Over the past year, this business has grown more quickly than I ever imagined, and I am so grateful for the interest, trust, and support. Every lesson booked, every event filled, every table laughing together — it never feels ordinary to me.
When I’m not behind a rack of tiles, I’m at home with my husband and my two boys (10 and 8) — usually in the middle of some kind of game there too!
Mahjong is magic, and I’m so excited to share it with you.
Group Lesson: 8 People; $400
Mahjong lessons are $50 per person. The $400 covers a total of 8 people attending the lesson. If more than eight players attend the class, an additional fee of $50 per person will be required at the time of service. You provide the space, and I handle everything else needed to play and learn Mahjong. I bring all the materials and expertise to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone. All bookings must be within a 30-minute radius of Park Ridge; locations beyond this will incur an additional travel fee or be subject to cancellation.
