Private Lessons: Kara- Park Ridge & North Shore

I’ve spent over 25 years in education, and at my core, I’m passionate about helping people grow and learn — and I’d love to help you grow your mahjong game too.

With advanced degrees in teaching and learning, I’ve taught both children and adults, and I truly believe that mindset is everything. The same growth mindset that helps us in life applies at the mahjong table: stay curious, embrace mistakes, and build confidence one step at a time. Mahjong isn’t about being perfect — it’s about learning, adjusting, and enjoying the process. Not to mention, it is just so much fun!

I love both playing and teaching mahjong, especially watching players start to trust themselves and take ownership of their game. My teaching style is supportive and nurturing, with plenty of encouragement (and a great sense of humor along the way!). I want every person at my table to feel comfortable, capable, and genuinely excited to learn.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me with my husband and our two boys, cooking something new, reading, practicing yoga, or counting down the days until summer in Fontana on Geneva Lake — my favorite place to relax and recharge.

Group Lesson: 8 People; $400

Mahjong lessons are $50 per person. The $400 covers a total of 8 people attending the lesson. If more than eight players attend the class, an additional fee of $50 per person will be required at the time of service. You provide the space, and I handle everything else needed to play and learn Mahjong. I bring all the materials and expertise to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone. All bookings must be within a 30-minute radius of Park Ridge; locations beyond this will incur an additional travel fee or be subject to cancellation.
